Steph & Josh: School/Senior School Captains

Welcome to the Senior School, we are the College Captains Steph and Josh.

We have both been here at East Loddon since Prep and consider ourselves so lucky to have attended such a unique school like East Loddon where we always love telling people we’re from a school in the middle of a paddock surrounded by a channel. There is so much that makes East Loddon special, but you can’t go past the culture here, built off the relationships between students and staff. This is largely through our small class sizes that assist with our learning and students feeling comfortable to ask questions.

In the senior school we as students are given an incredible number of opportunities and supported in these endeavours every step of the way by our teachers. From the endless number of camps and excursions we go on to the regular sports days, all these experiences leave us with cherished memories and strengthened bonds. We will always remember our canoeing along the Murray River in pitch black at 11 o’clock at night that’s for sure.

The fortunate position of our school also allows us great access to agricultural based learning involving practical, hands on work such as planting and growing crops.

As Year 12’s we love being apart of our Prep Reading Buddy Program where each Monday we will head back to where it all started in the Prep room to read with our buddies, watching them improve out of sight each week. This is such a special part of being at East Loddon everyone together, striving to succeed.

Ava and Kyen - Middle School Captains

Hello and welcome to the middle years!

We are Kyen and Ava, this year’s middle year’s sub-school captains. We enjoy being in middle years because you get to experience different and more advanced subjects such as cooking, woodwork and textiles. While being the middle school captains, we have organised a middle school social and every month we run a middle school assembly. In these assembly’s, we go through all the recent events that have happened in different classes such as sport days, dress up fundraisers and camps.

As middle school captains, we get to develop leadership skills on many occasions such as going to Melbourne for the ANZAC ceremony. All chosen future captains will also do this and they will also help lead the P-12 end of year assembly…and you get to wear a posh school blazer!

It has been such a great opportunity to have been chosen as this year’s middle school captains. We are so grateful for this chance to learn new skills and inspire others. We hope you enjoy the middle years part of the school, we enjoy being a part of it.

Piper And Ned - Junior School Captains

Hi, we are Piper and Ned, the junior school captains.

The junior school area is a great place! We get to do literacy and numeracy every day, we also get to do P-E, Agriculture, Science, Humanities, German, Art, ICT (Digi tech) twice a week and Performing arts once a week. We also switch our classes in semester two.

In the junior school we start school sleep overs, camps, excursions, incursions, Book week, P-12 productions every second year and the alternate years we do market days as well, and Footy colours day. We also have great teachers in the P-4 as well as students.

In year 4 you get a choice to stand for election to be either sub school captain or P-4 SRC representaive.

We have a huge play space like netball grounds/basketball, ovals and playgrounds. Once a year we do bread bags and bread tags collections to get sports equipment. We have veggie gardens in which you get to do some planting in Agriculture .

We have a tiger turf which is where we have our lunch and if you want to you can just sit down and play. We have a library, gym, art room, multipurpose room and a canteen.

We get our own teacher for about half the day for literacy and numeracy. We always learn something new every day!

If you came to East Loddon we hope you would have a lot of fun. We love it!
